Don’t Get Caught Out – Travel Like a Pro with Nappy Pants

So, you’ve booked your first family holiday. Congratulations! Chances are, you’ve spent hours scrolling Airbnb listings, picking the perfect hotel or asking friends for advice.  Now that’s sorted, it’s time to tackle the next big thing: what to pack for your toddler.  Whether you’re heading interstate, on a road trip down the coast or flying overseas, we’ve compiled some must-haves to take on the  journey and helpful tips you may want to consider. Because on holidays with a toddler, anything goes. From entertainment to essentials (including Nappy Pants) here’s what to expect so you don’t get caught out and can enjoy the ride from the start.

Entertainment and snacks

It goes without saying that snacks are a big part of toddlerhood. We suggest bringing a lunchbox you can use for the trip and refill daily because there’s nothing worse than being stuck with a hangry toddler, right? Flights (even international hauls) will allow you to bring food. So fruit, biscuits, rice crackers, yoghurt and muffins are all fair game.

Pencils, crayons, colouring books, Go Fish, magnetic toys, bead kits and puzzles. When it comes to small humans, the rule of thumb is, you can never have enough entertainment. For screen time, allow yourself a little grace and flex especially if you’re doing an international trip. Most streaming platforms let you download your toddler’s favourite shows onto a tablet to watch offline – so no internet is needed. This is a game-changer for long hauls and international flights. Pack a dedicated entertainment/snack bag and you’ll be travelling like a pro.

Nappy Pants make change time easy

For many first-time parents, in-flight nappy changes can be a surprising challenge, but Nappy Pants are the ultimate solution. There’s something about the altitude that really gets things moving!

On planes, both interstate and international, you’ll quickly realise there isn’t a change table big enough for a toddler, so nappy changes often need to happen standing up. This is where Nappy Pants are a game-changer. The Nappy Pants pull-up design makes changing so much easier than traditional tabs, allowing for quick, easy changes even in cramped spaces.

Nappy Pants come in sizes 4, 5, and 6 and feature side tear seams that can be easily ripped for fast, no-fuss disposal.

If you’re heading off on a long car trip, Nappy Pants are also the easiest option for changes on the go. You might find yourself on open roads, at grotty petrol stations with no change tables, or even using the car boot as your change station. With Nappy Pants, it’s no big deal. Nappy Pants really are a smart travellers saviour.

Change of Clothes

When you’re travelling with toddlers, a change of clothes is essential. Kids have a magical way of getting wet, dirty, or both. The notorious sippy cup does somehow have a way of leaking every time. Add to the list – a spare tee, some leggings and even an extra pair of socks.

On the positive front with Nappy Pants, there are fewer explosions to worry about. The leg guards help contain any mess, and the design of Nappy Pants features a super absorbent core that draws moisture away from toddlers bodies. Nappy Pants keep the mess contained.

Airport Antics

If you’re driving to the airport and popping your family wagon in long-term parking, make sure you allow extra time as you’ll need to catch a shuttle bus to your terminal. Time precision is everything when travelling with toddlers and being able to drive to the airport allows you to take more ownership of your schedule.

If you’re flying internationally, be prepared for a long customs process – a stroller is highly recommended. Travel strollers are now designed to fit in overhead luggage compartments and they’re super helpful, lightweight, and easy to travel with. When flying internationally, prepare for extra time on the other side of your trip for customs. Kids under the age of six don’t have digital passports, and in most countries, they must be manually entered into the system. Hence the entertainment.

You might also want to consider booking a red-eye flight, as it usually makes the first half of your trip less stressful. Once boarded, you can knock out a good eight hours of your journey before the morning and hopefully, you won’t have to keep your busy toddler entertained.

Sleeping Arrangements

Remember holidays are for relaxing, so sleeping arrangements are something you’ll want to plan ahead for. If you’re staying in a hotel, they may provide a travel cot, but if you’ve booked an Airbnb with bunk beds, you might still want to invest in a travel cot if you don’t want to be playing chasey in the middle of the night.

When it comes to hotel rooms, it’s also a good idea to consider booking one with a sliding door. That way, when the kids conk out at 7pm, you’ll have some space to enjoy a wine or a proper conversation with your partner instead of sitting in the dark whispering!

Allow for some flexibility. Though it may seem daunting breaking the usual routine and shift of environment, on the plus side, holidays are a sure way to build some lasting family memories. Kids are more adaptable than you’d expect. So give yourself permission to go with the flow. Enjoy, take lots of snaps and have a great time.
